Recycle your old car to help kids

Clapped out but ready to make a difference

Maybe you are able to sell your old car or trade it in, but if you can't there is a win-win solution beyond the wreckers yard. Kids Under Cover is a Melbourne based not-for-profit organisation that has been working to prevent and end youth homelessness for more than 30 years. Imagine what it's like for a young person from an overcrowded or tense home to live in a relocatable studio built in the family backyard, safe and able to study with the help of a scholarship. Donated cars help to fund all this - they are collected, auctioned, and the donor can claim the value of the sold car as a tax deduction (all handled by Kids Under Cover). Even if the cars do end up being used for spare parts, they are making disadvantaged kids' lives better on the way.
